SARA

Profile

Intermediate Pole, Advanced Pole, Boot Camp, Hip Hop Pole

Sara has been taking pole since 2009 and began teaching in 2011.  She has trained in jazz, contemporary, ballet and hip hop dance.  She began pole as an extension of these interests and found that she loved the new challenges and artistry.  She also loves running, hiking and Insanity workouts and incorporates the strength building moves into her boot camp classes.  Her favorite part of teaching pole fitness is watching her students gain strength and confidence when accomplishing new moves and poses.  If you're looking for an intense workout that still feels fun and gives you lots of encouragement, you should check out her classes.

MARTA DEE

Foundation Pole, Intermediate Pole, Private Parties, Workshops

{phocagallery view=category|categoryid=7|imageid=71|float=left}Marta Dee was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She is happily married and has two fur babies named Sid and Goonter. Currently she is working on her Associates Degree in Applied Science to further herself into the Veterinarian field.

Dance and performing has always appealed to her since she was a kid. She started ballet/contemporary dance at the young age of 3. Getting involved in the theatrical arts throughout high school and performing for school plays quickly became habitual for her. Pursuing contact sports such as softball, boxing and weightlifting, being active has always been a strong point of hers too. However, it wasn't until she became a student of Tucson Pole Fitness, that she realized nothing could prepare her for such an intense and unique work out! After watching her favorite pole idol Alethea Austin on YouTube win a pole championship title to the song Sober by Tool, she was completely inspired to try pole fitness and competing in the near future. She became a student in 2011 and recently began teaching in March of 2014 and hasn't looked back since! Although she has been familiar with sports most of her life, flexibility was always her biggest challenge. With consistency, the amount of strength and active flexibility she has attained has given her the natural 'make any move look easy' illusion to her tricks/performances. What will you gain from her classes? Strength, endurance, fluidity but most notably confidence and a unique and fun alternative to getting into the best shape of your life. Come and join her for a foundation(beginning) class, private session, lap workshop or pole party!

Kelsea

Intro to Pole, Foundation Pole, Private Parties

{phocagallery view=category|categoryid=4|imageid=75|float=left}Kelsea’s journey as a pole fitness instructor stems for her intrinsic passion for gymnastics and dance, which she began participating in at a young age. Having enrolled in classes at Tucson Pole Fitness in 2010, Kelsea immediately became enthralled with sport, and never looked back. Holding her Bachelor of Science degree in Literacy, Learning, and Leadership, from the University of Arizona, Kelsea inspires to pursue her Master’s Degree in Higher Education and become a professor. Kelsea is an athlete who built her pole prowess on varying elements within yoga, dance, gymnastics, belly dance, and her creative ability to choreograph unique routines. Kelsea currently instructs Foundation level classes, along with flexibility classes, pole dance parties, and private lessons. Kelsea believes that the art of pole fitness allows every individual to find that they are stunningly beautiful, inside and out; Kelsea’s teaching style exemplifies this. Kelsea’s classes put an emphasis on the individual to focus on their strength, ability, and individual style. Embracing the notion that pole dancing gives every student, regardless of their fitness level, an opportunity to discover and manifest themselves as an athlete, Kelsea offers students a fun, and challenging workout with tangible results. Kelsea’s classes vary from being sexy and playful, to inspirational and fitness focused, all which accentuate the notion of self-empowerment. When she’s not defying gravity in the pole studio, you can find Kelsea spending time with her fiancé and young daughter, Aris. Kelsea also enjoys taking Crossfit classes, and skateboarding on her free time.

What are some of your favorite things about Tucson Pole Fitness?

The people and the environment. I think a lot of people initially join because they like pole and then realize that it's more than a place to just work out. We have an extremely friendly and supportive atmosphere and I think that allows ladies to feel comfortable. I've seen people transform... from shy and reserved to confident enough to perform in front of a room full of strangers, from weak to strong, from saying "I could never..." to "I can't believe I just did...!".

My favorite thing about TPF in general is the amazing, diverse, and supportive group of people who make up the community.  My favorite thing about teaching at TPF was watching students grow.  So often someone would start off completely unable to perform a given move.  Then, a week later, they would do it ten times in a class!  I loved it
