Questions relating to the sport of pole fitness

While the vast majority of our students are older than 18 year old, children under the age of 18 can participate in our classes with parent permission, but must be accompanied by an adult. The child must be able to grip the pole and follow instructions. If you have a child that is interested in learning pole fitness, please contact us.

We have students who are almost in their 60's. There are many pole athletes who continue well into their 70's! As with all fitness routines, you should speak with a trained medical professional to ensure you are healthy enough to participate.

Pole fitness is primarily resistance training. You learn to lift and pull your body against gravity. Don't expect to lift yourself up on the pole and hang upside down at your first class! With training and time, you will get stronger and stronger until you are strong enough to do any move you'd like!

No one is too big or out of shape for pole fitness. If you're unhappy with how you look, or want to get in better shape, then you have to start somewhere, sometime - so why not here and now! Pole fitness is a great workout which will help you lose weight, gain strength, increase your confidence, and improve your overall well-being. Even larger people can succeed at pole - take Emma Haslam for example!

Before beginning pole fitness or any new exercise routine, you should always speak with a trained, medical professional for approval. Once approved, pole fitness is an excellent way to improve flexibility, muscle tone, core and upper body strength, and is easy on joints. However, if you ever feel pain or severe discomfort while in class, tell the instructor immediately.

That's ok! You can make pole fitness be whatever you'd like it to be for you. Some are interested in the dance side of pole, others, the fitness and strength required to perform on the pole, while still others like the sexy side of pole fitness. After participating in our pole classes, you'll discover what aspect of pole fitness appeals to you the most.

No! Some like to wear them to make their workout more sexy, but as with most any fitness routine, cross trainers, socks or barefeet all work equally well!

What is necessary for pole fitness is skin grip. This is most easily achieved by wearing the proper clothing. For most people, shorts are ideal for most pole work. Skirts, 'skorts' or boy shorts are also good choices that vary depending on your comfort & your level of practice. Tees, tanksm, or  sport bras work well for the upper body. There's no reason you can't be modest & comfortable.

Of course! Men have a distinct advantage in pole fitness with increased upper body strength, and can excel at this sport as with many others. Pole fitness is NOT a woman's sport only.

Questions about the studio and the classes offered there

Absolutely not! We enforce our dress code and there is absolutely no nudity permitted at the studio. However, if you're interested in learning a fun strip or lap dance routine, we occasionally offer a special workshop that teaches this sensual art, with clothing still required.

Regular pole classes are generally 55 minutes in length. Special workshops and private parties are 90 minutes.

Yes! If you purchase an unlimited pole membership, you really do get access to all our pole fitness classes within your pole level offered during your purchased time frame (week, month, etc.). Most students however attend 2 - 3 pole classes a week, to give their bodies time to recover between classes.

Most pole classes are taught in the evenings starting at 6:30 PM with the last classes ending at 9:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Classes are in the morning on Saturdays, usually between 9 AM and 12 PM. Click here the current schedule of classes.
